May Spring Break give you a spring in your step! When we get back there will be a very short time left until this school year ends. I know many of us will be happy to see that happen. But you have accomplished so much this year. To send us out on a high note, let's acknowledge the thing you are proudest of accomplishing this year, and then let's acknowledge something you appreciate about a colleague this year! I know I ask for comments a lot, but let's break the internet with these comments!!
We love to try to catch those Leprechauns, but they sure do make a mess!
Loving the Learning Targets!
Kids and Stem, what a winning combination!

Thank you again to our amazing PTA and all of the amazing teachers and staff who made last night possible!! It was awesome!!
A sad farewell
Today is Ms. Caruso's last day with us.😞 We thank her for the amazing job she has done teaching while Ms. Cronin has been out enjoying her beautiful new baby! I hope our paths cross again!

Technology is not my best friend. My husband will attest to that as I often argue with Alexa. So for me challenging this old brain of mine to learn new means of instructing in the virtual is a huge accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteA great big shout out to the wonderful, compassionate, understanding, and talented community of educators at GHE.
The green toilet! LOL! Keeping kids engaged and interested is the key! Everyone have a great spring break with lots of rest and relaxation!
ReplyDeletePersonal accomplishment: Doing anything correctly with this Chromebook or with Google Drive :)
ReplyDeleteColleague accomplishment: I have to give a shout out to Gina McMahon and Tracy Fields who have had to navigate coming in and out, and in and out, and finally back in again with Kindergarteners! They have faced so many challenges this year, especially with trying to take care of our smallest GHE Falcons during a pandemic, and yet everyday those kids leave that room smiling and happy. They have risen above and have done everything they can to make this Kindergarten year a special one for their students. You ladies are the best!
I would also like to give a shout out to Anu Belpu, who has had to navigate leading the IAs this year, putting together all of the materials distributions, and coming back into the classroom to work with students. She is fantastic, and such a hard worker! Thank you for all you do!
Also, to all the teachers that have students back in the building, and the teachers who are doing both in person and virtual, I am in awe of how you are making that work. You are all rock stars!
One more shout out: To the K team, you are all amazing ladies to work with, and I am so thankful that you are all smarter than me with all this stuff :) (and GO VAL, WCPSS FIRST YEAR TEACHER OF THE YEAR!!)
I have taken on a position that was very unfamiliar this year and it has taken quite a bit of this normally scientific mind to learn something totally foreign. I learn more everyday and I really want to say that our staff here at GHE show patience and grace. The office staff have taken me under their wing to help and have showed me the ropes with lots of laughs along the way. Thank you all and have a wonderful, relaxing break!
ReplyDeleteI am consistently impressed with the Plan B teachers and their flexibility to come in and out and in and out and back in!
ReplyDeleteI love "popping" into the virtual classrooms. I don't know how those teachers do it but it is always amazes me the teaching happening virtually!
Course we have to acknowlege the hybrid teachers! I love how first grade calls their students Zoomies and Roomies. I know that was another learning curve for those teachers and I just can't believe how seamless they made it seem.
I love working here!
Huge shoutout to Margaret Coleman and Katie Parrot!! These ladies amaze me daily with their dedication to teaching and their students. They both are rocking the job as hybrid teachers. I feel so blessed to have my "roomies" learning from them this year!! Way to go ladies!!!!! Enjoy your well deserved spring break!!

ReplyDeleteSue Perry you just made my day!!
ReplyDeletePersonal accomplishment- managing grad school classes and teaching hybrid. It has been HARD, but I've managed to complete all of my assignments and stay sane (for the most part!)
HUGE shoutout to my team for always supporting me. There is so much that could make me feel overwhelmed but it doesn't because we all work together to complete what needs to be done. Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
My personal accomplishment is doing well in grad school while teaching virtually. Whew! It has definitely been a challenge and there have been some tears, but I've been taking it one day at a time and I think I'm doing it well. Little by little, one gets far!
ReplyDeleteSo grateful for my K team and wonderful colleagues here at GHE! You inspire me and have helped me more than you know. Thank you for all the kind words, encouragement, and listening ears over the years. I appreciate you!
I am so appreciative of Jenna, Anna and Jennifer who have been such a supportive team. Jenna looks for ways to support me even though her schedule is packed! Anna is amazing and so encouraging of the students and teachers! Jennifer's schedule has changed a million times and she still has a smile!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Perez makes hybrid look easy. She does an amazing job of guiding both in person and online students! Oh, also Humphries is so supportive and patient with a shared student of ours and I even see her taking time to build a relationship with a 3rd grader who needs some extra love. I could do on all day because GHE is filled with amazing educators, but I want to start spring break!
It looks like I posted at 1:22 and started my spring break early. Ha! I started then and just finished now. I was working all day I promise. :)
DeleteMy personal accomplishment is completing this year's AIG identification process through individual student portfolios. It sure was a challenge that I am SO happy was completed successfully and on time! I couldn't have pulled it off without the awesome support and patience from all 5th Grade, 3rd Grade, support staff teachers and administration. My other BIG accomplishment was learning and implementing so many new digital tools/apps/extensions that now I feel quite comfortable with virtual teaching and still am learning new things everyday (even though I do pine to be back in person).
ReplyDeleteI want to send 1000 kudos to my wonderful partner and friend, Karla. She is a wealth of knowledge and always is ready to help no matter how busy she is. Karla is endlessly patient, works tirelessly and such a great person to work with. We work so well together that even our differences are compatible. I could not ask for a better work partner!
